PICTURE BOOK PRE-READING EXTENSIONS

Feature...

  • Color illustrations reminiscent of high-quality children’s picture books
  • Keyword vocabulary from select children’s books
  • Chalkboard print labels - no confusing “a’s” or “g’s” for young readers
  • Laminated 67 lb vellum, using 5 mil film for durability
  • Corners rounded for safety
  • Kid-friendly sizing for easy handling - just large enough to capture the child’s attention
Our card sets can be used in any early childhood setting, including the home, to extend and enhance the child’s reading experience with a favorite storybook; or to add focused language lessons to read-aloud or shared reading programs. These activities will also stand alone as independent work for the child, and can be used and enjoyed with the storybook to build vocabulary and language concepts.

  • Picture Matching Cards -- Picture matching cards build visual discrimination skills; and when used as a concentration game, challenge visual memory.
  • Comparison Cards -- Comparison cards build observational and visual discrimination skills as the child looks for likenesses and differences.
  • Sequencing Cards -- Sequencing cards develop logical thinking skills as the child places the cards in sequential order to tell a story.
  • Lotto Board Games -- Lottos are picture-matching games for two (or one) that develop language, observational and social skills.
